Babylon Bee will not delete or retreat on its tongue-in-cheek tweet

Why are transgender people exempt from being joked about? Or is that just one of the things that makes joking about them even more irresistible?

In the case of not-altogether-successful female impersonator Rachel Levine, U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health and the first openly transgender governmental official, the openly satirical Babylon Bee has had its Twitter account locked after naming her its 2022 “Man of the Year” and promoting the story on Twitter.

Other public figures just have to laugh when they get zinged. The clownish-looking Levine got “protected” by the morality police at Twitter, who go after virtually anything non-liberal with that clumsy zeal unique to puritans.

Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon told FOX News that he has no plans to delete the “offending” tweet because, he says, it would help the social media platform “eradicate objective truth” if Americans accepted the tech giant’s one-sided version of reality.

Dillon said that story was a satirical reply to Levine’s being named one of the top women of the year by USA Today. No joke.

Dillon was notified on Sunday night that The Babylon Bee was locked out of its Twitter account, which has 1.3 million followers, after being accused of violating Twitter rules against “hateful conduct.” The rules say: “You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.”

A Twitter spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the account owner “is required to delete the violative Tweet before regaining access to their account.” That is, you must publicly bend the knee and admit it is you who are in the wrong.
