Not according to Joe Biden.
Joe Biden just said that who gets killed in an abortion is, in fact, a child.
While speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on May 3, Biden characteristically careened off script and relied on his keen intellect, stating: “The idea that we’re gonna make a judgment that is going to say that no one can make the judgment to choose to abort a child based on a decision by the Supreme Court I think goes way overboard.”
Aides were quick to step in and usher him away, according to a Daily Wire report, but not before the addled and bumbling Biden let the cat out of the bag. People abort children.
Advocates for abortion take great pains to dehumanize the victims of the procedure, arguing that they are not yet human and certainly not children.
The gaffe came a day after the Supreme Court suffered a crippling blow to its confidentiality and credibility, with the Politico website publishing a leaked draft of an upcoming Supreme Court opinion that, when finalized, would overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade case that made abortion federally legal.
The draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, authored by Justice Samuel Alito and reportedly signed by four other justices, would repeal the national right to abortion and leave the procedure up to individual states. The May 2 leak was virtually unprecedented, and Chief Justice John Roberts has called for an investigation. The decision is currently expected in June.
“Biden’s defense of ‘aborting babies’ is not exactly how the Democrats want to frame the issue,” tweeted George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley.
“Joe Biden is so aloof that he screwed up his Leftist talking point and said ‘abort a child’ not a clump of cells or any other term the Left wants to try and use to make abortion seem less evil,” tweeted Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert, more pointedly.
