Burka Bomb Follows Up Shootings in Pakistan: Nine Dead, 30 Injured

The Daily Mail – At least nine people were killed and 30 injured after a suicide bomber wearing a burka blew herself up outside a Pakistani hospital Sunday. The Pakistani Taliban, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, claimed the Dera Ismail Khan attack.

Senior police officer Salim Riaz Khan said gunmen on motorcycles first opened fire on police in a residential area, killing two, then the bomber struck at the hospital entrance killing another four police and three civilians there visiting relatives.

The attacker set off 15-lbs of explosives packed with nails and ball-bearings, according to Inayat Ullah, a local forensics expert. Eight police are among the wounded, and many of those with injuries are in critical condition.
