‘HomeGrown Jihad’ Coming to a City Near You

(June 9, 2009) With the successful production and distribution of 'HOMEGROWN JIHAD: The Terrorist Camps Around U.S.' the Christian Action Network (CAN) has launched an national screening tour of the documentary.

The film exposes a group called 'Muslims of America' that government-funded documents clearly identify as a threat. In 2006, a report funded by the Justice Department, 'Dissemination Restricted to Law Enforcement,' states that this group had paramilitary training camps inside of the country. Now, as a result of CAN's three-year investigation, America can hear the story about 'Muslims of America' and it's all coming to a theater near you!

Martin Mawyer, President of CAN, "In the documentary 'HomeGrown Jihad' you hear Sheik Muburak Gilani, the leader of these 35 terrorist compounds in the United States say: 'We are fighting to destroy the enemy. We are dealing with evil at its roots and its roots are America.' Now, we take those words to the roots of America."

Already, over 16 screenings of the documentary have taken place across the country, with more in the works for the summer of 2009. Screenings have included small venues including living rooms and libraries to larger locations like theatres, community centers and churches. Mawyer noted, "We've even had a screening at a retirement center where World War II veterans filled the audience. We are dedicated in getting this message out to Main Street America.

When the documentary film premiered at the Landmark Theater in Washington, DC on February 11, 2009, the standing ovation and tremendous response made Mawyer decide that he had to take the film on the road. "Though very few people in the audience knew about CAN and our investigation on this issue, the theatre was at full capacity and the excitement for the film was truly positive and invigorating."

CAN has already conducted screenings in these following cities: Washington DC, Houston, TX, New York, NY, Tucson, AZ, Jacksonville, FL, Nashville, TN, Raleigh, NC, Commerce, GA, Fairbanks, AK, Fort Wayne, IN, Memphis, TN, Miami, FL, Arlington, WA, Chambersburg, PA, Fairfax, VA and Sacramento, CA.
