Al-Qaeda May Be Planning to Use Females, Implanted Bombs
ABC
News reported on January 22 that law enforcement has been
warned that there is information that female suicide bombers from
Yemen may be on their way to the United States. At the same time,
the United Kingdom has raised its alert to "severe" and MI5 has
evidence that Al-Qaeda is planning to surgically implant bombs in
its operatives to get past airport security, according to The
Daily Mail.
The ABC News story says that one official says that at least two females are connected to Al-Qaeda's branch in Yemen, the same affiliate responsible for the attempted "crotch bombing" of an airliner as it landed in Detroit on Christmas Day. The female recruits are said to have obtained Western passports and do not have the visual appearance of Arabs.
A Senate report recently disclosed that up to three dozen Americans who converted to Islam while in prison are currently in Yemen and may have linked up with terrorists under the guise of wanting to study Arabic.
The report also said that at least six people on the No-Fly List have been denied entry onto airliners between January 16 and 18.
The information about a plot to implant explosives inside the bodies of terrorists trying to board airliners is reported by The Daily Mail to have been detected by monitoring Arabic web sites.
"A leading source added that male bombers would have the explosive secreted near their appendix or in their buttocks, while females would have the material placed inside their breasts in the same way as figure-enhancing implants," the report said.
