Fed Court Backs Trump’s Defunding of Abortions

The Christian Post – A panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit allowed the Trump administration’s rule to take effect that prohibits Title-X funds from being used to fund abortions.

In a unanimous decision Thursday, the three-judge panel granted the Department of Health and Human Services a stay against three preliminary injunctions issued by courts in California, Oregon and Washington.

Travis Weber, vice president for policy at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C., said in a statement that with the final rule being allowed to take effect, there will be, “a bright line between abortion and family planning programs, just as federal law requires and the Supreme Court upheld.”
