Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will witness a sea of red t-shirts representing Gay Days this weekend as the annual event returns on Oct. 4th-6th to the Anaheim theme parks, with parties, theme park meet-ups, trivia games, and scavenger hunts. The unofficial mix-in event celebrates LGBT pride.
The red Gay Days Anaheim t-shirts are going to include a Star Wars theme this year, featuring a stormtrooper on the front with the slogan “May the Fierce Be With You.”
The first independently-organized Gay Days Anaheim event took place in 1998 when 2,500 attended it. Today, the annual event attracts more than 30,000 Gay Days attendees for the three-day event.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel will host theme park trivia, a meet-up with Disney’s Pride LGBT diversity group, and a singles mixer. The Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel shall kick off the weekend event with a $25 Wonderland Party.
On Saturday, the focus shall be on Disneyland with meet-ups on the Mark Twain Riverboat (11 am) and in the Enchanted Tiki Room (1 pm) There will be a $50 Kingdom Party in the night at the Anaheim House of Blues.
On the final day of the event, Gay Days shall move to Disney California Adventure where meet-ups will take place and a $25 Plunge Pool Party shall start at noon at the Anaheim Majestic pool.
The event shall wind down with cocktails in the evening at the Hearthstone Lounge.
