House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan Reveals Damning Evidence of Facebook’s Compliance with Biden Administration’s Censorship Demands
The censorship charade just keeps getting worse.
Facebook and Instagram have been dancing to the tune of the Biden administration, censoring Americans under the flimsy guise of “misinformation.” That’s the latest from the House Judiciary Committee, which recently held hearings into White House censorship of social media.
Just imagine, the sheer audacity of it all. Facebook, the global giant of social media is making a mockery of free speech at the behest of the White House. They have been making chumps out of all of us, pretending to give us a free-speech platform while all the time monitoring and censoring, if they deem it necessary, every word we utter.
The latest punchline in this comedy of errors? Jim Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, came forward with a pile of “smoking gun” documents. They prove that Facebook, in its infinite wisdom, decided it was a good idea to pull the plug on American voices just because the Biden administration told them to.
Now, we have to credit Facebook here; though they were a tough nut to crack. They only served up the evidence after being threatened with a contempt of Congress charge. And the contempt charge is still on the table, says Jordan, if Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t play nice.
Let’s not mince words here. These documents PROVE that the Biden White House was the puppet master behind Facebook censorship. An email from April 2021 sticks out like a sore thumb. Addressed to Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg, former COO of Facebook, it plainly states the continued pressure Facebook was under from “external stakeholders,” including the Biden White House, to remove posts.
Adding fuel to the fire, another email from Nick Clegg, Facebook’s president for global affairs, showed Biden’s senior adviser, Andy Slavitt, was “outraged” that Facebook did not remove a particular post concerning the COVID-19 vaccines, which the White House wanted tagged as “misinformation” and removed.
It’s mind-boggling to think that Facebook was ready to dance to the tune of the White House, suppressing content even when it represented a gross violation of traditional boundaries of free expression in the United States.
Here’s the kicker: Tucker Carlson, a prominent conservative, saw his video post demoted by Facebook, again in response to White House demands. Despite the post not violating any policies, Facebook was all too keen to inform the White House that they had cut down the video’s reach by a whopping 50 percent.
It seems the Biden administration isn’t alone in this endeavor. Biden’s surgeon general, Dr. Vivek Murthy, was also reportedly in on this censorship game, closely watching content released by the “disinformation dozen” who were allegedly spreading “misinformation” about COVID. (Included in that dirty dozen list are Robert Kennedy, Jr., a Democrat presidential candidate, and several physicians – but what would they know about health issues.)
What we have here is a case of textbook censorship. The very cornerstone of our democracy is being chipped away, while the culprits try to look innocent. This whole debacle makes it clear that we are at a precipice. If we don’t start asking the right questions and demand accountability from those who wish to silence us, we may be forced to forever hold our peace.
And remember, as always, free speech is not a privilege; it’s a right.
