Citizens Visit Terrorist Compound in Virginia, Describe Being Followed

The Gates of Vienna blog reported on March 10 that they received a description and photos of a visit to the "Muslims of America" compound in Red House, VA. The "Muslims of America" is an organization set up by a radical Muslim cleric based in Pakistan and has approximately 35 compounds in the U.S. The organization is the topic of the Christian Action Network's documentary, "Homegrown Jihad: Terrorist Camps Around U.S."

The two citizens who sent the report to the blog described the Red House site as being patrolled, having a guardhouse and being "run down and poorly maintained." Locals at nearby stores said those living at the site make purchases with food stamps and are "very aggressive with strangers asking questions about them."

The two individuals who made the trip also described being briefly followed.

"We were followed up 726 toward Appomattox by the Ford truck at the store after they observed us taking pictures and waypoints at the gate. We pulled over and stopped about a mile from Red House and jumped out, whereupon he did a 180 back to the store," the report said.

A total of four members living at the Red House compound have been arrested on firearms violations, including one who was convicted in November 2001.
