European Authorities Investigate Prominent Muslim Leaders

The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report says that several Muslim leaders connected to the Muslim Brotherhood group, a radical Islamic organization, are being investigated by the authorities in Europe.

The German authorities have raided 14 buildings, including mosques, organizations and private homes, as part of the investigation. One of those being looked at is Ibrahim el-Zayat, the leader of the Islamic Congregations in Germany, which the report says is linked to Muslim Brotherhood.

Although no arrests were made, three suspects are believed to have funneled money meant for construction at mosques to other purposes, possibly including terrorism, and to have obtained government subsidies through fraud.

Additional raids occurred in Belgium and possibly Austria, according to The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report.

Muslim Brotherhood is connected to many organizations in the United States as well. One of the group's documents lists "our organizations and the organizations of our friends" and lists prominent groups like the Islamic Circle of North America, the Islamic Society of North America, Muslim Students Association, and the North American Islamic Trust.

The federal government also recently identified the Council on American-Islamic Relations as being founded and led by members of the Muslim Brotherhood networks.
