Leaders of Group Suing Christian Action Network for ‘Defamation’ Confirmed as ‘Terrorist,’ ‘Jihad’ Network by Declassified FBI Documents

The Clarion Project has obtained declassified FBI documents that confirm a group known as Muslims of the Americas (MOA) is an American-based Islamic terrorist organization with at least 22 “enclaves” throughout the country. The group is devoted to “jihad or holy war against individuals or groups it considers enemies of Islam, which includes the U.S. Government,” the FBI documents state.

Ryan Mauro, former National Security Consultant for Christian Action Network, and now National Security Analyst with the Clarion Project, broke the story after filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for previously classified FBI documents relating to MOA.

“The documented propensity for violence by this organization supports the belief the leadership of the MOA extols membership to pursue a policy of jihad or holy war” within the United States, the FBI documents state. They also state that “The MOA is now an autonomous organization which possesses an infrastructure capable of planning and mounting terrorist campaigns overseas and within the U.S.”

Leaders of MOA are currently suing Christian Action Network and its president, Martin Mawyer, claiming “defamation” from a book Mawyer published in 2013, “Twilight in America,” co-authored by Patti A. Pierucci, that exposed the activities of MOA and its terrorist history.
