Support for polygamy in U.S. double since 2001

By Daniel Greenfield

Draw whatever conclusions you like.

Not only do strong majorities support homosexuality, euthanasia and having children outside of marriage, but there’s even some movement on the creepier fronts of the left’s war on values.

19 percent now view suicide as morally acceptable. Up from 13 percent in 2001.

Support for cloning people has doubled to 15 percent. And support for polygamy has more than doubled, up to 16 percent from 7 percent in 2001.

So far no bestiality or pedophilia questions, but we’ll get there eventually. The arc of justice always bends to the most screwed up.

But the interesting thing about the polygamy statistic is how it dovetails with the number of Muslims more than doubling since that time. Of course there’s no way to know if the two are connected together. Like the cloning support, it might just be a factor of overall collapsing values. Maybe.

In a similar poll in the UK, 22 percent were willing to say that polygamy might on occasion be a good idea. The UK Green Party, which is willing to endorse just about anything, including pedophilia, has been open to it. We still haven’t caught up to Europe.
