Earlier this week, the controversial Planned Parenthood announced the closure of two of its Ohio clinics by September 20th.
The organization said that these clinics have lost federal and state funding because of certain politicians who initiated the “defunding” because they were performing abortions. Planned Parenthood insisted that neither of the two clinics was involved in performing the procedure.
Kersha Deibel, CEO and president of Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region, remarked that Cincinnati should be the last place where politicians should force health centers to shut down.
Deibel claimed that the politicians wanted to create a world where women lose their access to birth control and information related to abortions which is horrific to so many moral people in Ohio, and where without money it becomes impossible to access a cancer screening or STI test.
Ohio currently has 26 Planned Parenthood clinics and while two in that part of the state are being closed down, there are five others that will continue to operate which means mainly African American babies will be destroyed.
Last month, Planned Parenthood had to give up millions of dollars in federal funding because Trump administration required the group to comply with a new rule that banned them from referring abortions in order to continue receiving government support.
The organization’s state funding to the tune of $600,000 was also cut in March this year after Republican legislators won approval from the 6th US Circuit Court of Appeals. America is trillions of dollars in debt – it needs to be financially responsible.
The Court upheld a 2016 Ohio law that has stopped organizations promoting or performing abortions from receiving preventive health funding.
