Muslim Brotherhood Donating to Obama’s Campaign
Federal Election Commission records show that Muslim activists tied to the Muslim Brotherhood organization, as well as one suspect in a terrorism financing case, have been donating to the campaign of Democratic presidential nominee, Senator Barack Obama, WorldNetDaily has reported. The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical organization that once counted the leaders of Al-Qaeda and Hamas as its members.
Jamal al-Barzinji, who donated $1000 to the Obama campaign which has not been returned, had his offices raided in 2002 by federal agents due to his suspected involvement in terrorism financing. A federal court affidavit says that Barzinji was connected to Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas, according to the WorldNetDaily report.
Barzinji was listed as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in FBI documents obtained by the Investigative Project on Terrorism. Barzinji claims he ended his involvement with the organization and that he was pushing them to abandon violence. Barzinji was also involved with other organizations accused of being involved in terrorism, such as the North American Islamic Trust and the Islamic Society of North America.
WorldNetDaily also reported that Esam Omeish donated $250 to the Obama campaign, who previously lost his government job after he was caught on tape advocating jihad against Israel. Omeish is the president of the Muslim-American Society, which was founded by Muslim Brotherhood members.
