Smackdown Saturday: Accidentally dropping the Quran causes a ‘hate incident’ charge

Martin Mawyer takes top news stories weekly and gives them a painful Saturday Smackdown. So here are the Smackdown lashings for the week of 3.04.23.

Dropping the Quran in school prompts charges of ‘hate incident’

In just a few months, King Charles III will be coronated as king of the United Kingdom. During his May coronation, he will appease the Muslim community by vowing the U.K. to defend “all faiths in this country,” and no longer just Christianity.

Beating his noble cause to the punch is Tudor Griffiths, the Headmaster at Kettlethorpe High School, who must think his Wakefield school is located in Afghanistan, Pakistan, or some other foreign Islamic country.

Law enforcement was called when a group of young teens accidentally dropped the Quran on the floor, causing a minor tear and scuffing of its pages.

Police charged the kids with a “hate incident,” a branding that will forever remain on their school records. They were then immediately suspended.

One of those accused kids is autistic. So besides being threatened with a good pummeling after returning to school, he is also receiving death threats.

The reaction has gotten so out of hand that false rumors began circulating among Muslim parents that the Quran had been intentionally burned or destroyed.

Rather than soothe tensions, Headmaster Tudor Griffiths decided – what else – but to add fuel to the fire.

“Rest assured,” he said, “this is a very serious matter and we have acted quickly … and we will continue to investigate and explore what has gone on. If more consequences have to follow (for the students) that will be the case.”

A serious matter? God forbid his child would ever spill a glass of breakfast milk.

And what possible “more consequences” could he dream up?

Even the Saudis don’t punish people for accidentally dropping the Quran.

I’m no Sharia expert, but here’s the only thing I could find about this peculiar offense online.

It comes from

“However, if the Qur’an falls from someone unwillingly, then this is considered as a mistake, which Allah leaves out. Allah says: ‘And there is no sin on you if you make a mistake therein, except in regard to what your hearts deliberately intend.’ (Al-Ahzab 33:5)”

Nowhere in the Islamic world are there consequences for accidentally dropping the Quran. No firing squads, lashings, amputations or beheadings. Not even a “hate incident” charge.

But Taliban headmaster Griffiths (being the proud patronizing servant of King Charles he is) added:

“We would like to reassure all our community that the holy book remains fully intact and that our initial enquiries indicate there was no malicious intent by those involved. However, we have made it very clear that their actions did not treat the Quran with the respect it should have.”

We’ll have to wait until a child accidentally drops the Bible to see if Headmaster Griffiths is truly a “defender of all faiths” or just another woke hypocrite.

Girl contemplates suicide after teacher tries to force her to transition

This is every parent’s nightmare:

A little 9-year-old girl at a Long Island elementary school was so mercilessly harassed and pressured by her teacher to change her gender identity …

… that the little girl began to consider suicide.

At age nine.

This teacher, who predictably sports rainbow-colored hair, just wouldn’t let up on the precious little girl. She began calling her by a male name, “Leo,” and started using male pronouns for her.

The teacher’s name is Debra Rosenquist – and now the parents are suing her and the school district for allowing this atrocity to happen in the first place.

This poor little girl was so confused and upset by the abuse she began drawing pictures of a little girl saying, “I wanna kill myself.”

In their lawsuit, the parents claim they have evidence showing the administration knew the bullying was taking place all along, but did nothing.

White 6th graders told to bow in front of black students

When students accidentally dropped the Quran at a school in England, it became international news. (see first story)

But a Florida teacher demanding white students bow down and feed black students barely made the local news.

It gets worse.

Howard Middle School teacher Ethan Hooper, who is black, videotaped the groveling incident during Black History Month and posted several clips on TikTok.

In the videos, all the students are laughing and seem to be having a good time.

Anyone thinking this is an isolated incident would be wrong.

In Ohio, during Black History Month, white elementary school students were attacked in a playground and forced to bow down to black students and say, “Black Lives Matter.” Police are investigating, we’re told.

11-year-old exposes sexually explicit books to school board

At a local school board meeting in Maine, an 11-year-old student read from a book he checked out of his school library.

“My back over my hips. I asked if he should take his clothes off. He was saying yes before I finished my sentence. He’s pulling off my T-Shirt, laughing when I can’t undo his shirt buttons. He’s undoing my belt. I’m reaching into his bedside drawer for a condom.”

But wait, it gets worse. Because then the boy, Knox Zajac, told the board members:

“The librarian asked if I wanted more, and if I wanted a graphic novel version.”

More graphic? Yes. The school has a more explicit version of the book, “Nick and Charlie,” with illustrations.

Knox is calling for the administrators of his school to be prosecuted. Or in my opinion, at least follow the footsteps of the United Kingdom and have the administrators interrogated and charged with a “child pornography incident.”

Pastor arrested for protesting drag show

Pastor Derek Reimer was shoved to the ground, kicked out of his public library, then arrested on charges of mischief and causing a disturbance …

… all because he showed up at his local library in Calgary, Canada, to protest a drag queen show that was in progress, with little children present.

Now the mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek, says she wants even stricter laws against protests like the pastor’s.
