Two arrested for assault on MAGA hat wearing man

Adebisi Okuneye and Leopold Hauser were arrested following an assault on Luke Lenzner, who was wearing a MAGA hat

Police have arrested a man and woman who allegedly assaulted a man wearing a MAGA cap while he was on a date with his wife.

The attack on Luke Lenzner occurred while he was leaving an Oregon bar last Saturday morning. He claimed to have been “sucker punched” as he and his wife left the establishment.

“Yep, hitting me square on the face,” he said.

He was left with bruising and cuts to his face and arms.

The alleged attackers, Adebisi Okuneye and Leopold Hauser, fled the scene but Lenzner was able to get the license plate of the car. The two were arrested a few blocks away from the Portland bar and charged with third-degree assault.

Lenzner said his attackers were “surrounding me, like literally surrounding me, pushing me. I’m just trying to get through, trying to stop the person from hitting me, from taking my hat, and then I get sucker punched.”

Witnesses tried to blame the assault on Lenzner, saying he pointed to his hat. But police said he was not physically involved and would not be charged.
