After two men were arrested in connection with a board meeting of the Round Rock, Texas Independent School District, Texas GOP gubernatorial candidate Allen West has vowed to investigate the Round Rock ISD Police Department if he gets elected.
When KXAN was reporting on the arrests on Sept. 18, a spokesperson for the district wrote: “Round Rock ISD coordinated with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, which was the arresting agency in this case.” The same day, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office told KXAN they “had no involvement in this case” but are still listed as the arresting agency on court documents.
“If they continue to have a police force here at Round Rock, we will have an investigation into their authority and their jurisdiction — because I don’t think they have the ability to go out and do what they did,” said West, speaking about the arrests of the two men.
West was speaking at a press conference outside an RRISD school board meeting where the board was readying to go into closed session for “consultation with legal counsel to discuss the employment and performance of the Superintendent.”
It is not yet known what action was taken regarding the superintendent.
Public school board meetings have become flashpoints in an intensifying cultural war that escalated sharply when Joe Biden entered the White House, and Biden has responded in leftist character by siccing federal authorities on parents who might dare speak out about schools. West vowed at the same appearance that he is opposed to school boards that try to “rule” over parents.
“I will guarantee you this: if I am the governor of the state of Texas, you will not have any school district, any school board that tries to rule over you,” West said before a crowd.
Dustin Clark and Jeremy Story were arrested Sept. 17 and have been charged with hindering proceedings by disorderly conduct, according to court records, for their alleged actions during a school board meeting earlier that week. KXAN interviewed both men after they were released from jail.
Those are BS charges aimed at people the school board does not want asking questions, making complaints and, in general, wanting to hide their actions and/or motives for those actions.
