Joe Biden signed an executive order on Jan. 20 that reinstates forced racial training for adults working in federal agencies, a practice for which President Donald Trump cut off funding last year.

Trump had maintained that the training — known to many who work in private industry as well — is racist, and that it was “teaching people to hate our country.” Known as Critical Race Theory, it attempts to indoctrinate people with the belief that whites owe a debt to all other races simply because they have been born and grown up white.

In September 2020, Trump issued an executive order ending funding to the practice, which paid consultants and contractors lavishly to denigrate white people.

Biden’s order restoring the lucrative racket said with characteristic vagueness that: “a historic movement for justice has highlighted the unbearable costs of systemic racism,” the legacy news magazine Newsweek reported.

“Because advancing equity requires a systematic approach to embedding fairness in decision-making processes,” Biden’s executive order read, “executive departments and agencies (agencies) must recognize and work to redress inequities in their policies and programs that serve as barriers to equal opportunity.”

So it seems there is much racism left to be rooted out, even after eight years of a half-black president, Barack Obama.

Trump’s objection to the diversity training was revealed in a September 2020 memo from the Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought. According to the memo, Trump had sought to halt federal funding for training highlighting “‘critical race theory,’ ‘white privilege,’ or any other training or propaganda effort” that taught either the U.S. or “any race or ethnicity is inherently racist or evil.”
