Quintez Brown, 21, even met former President Barack Obama in 2019 as part of Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, aimed at closing achievement gaps facing young boys and men of color.
Obama is known for his malice, sarcasm and thinly veiled statements supporting violence against his political opponents.
Brown is now accused of attempted murder in the Feb. 14 attack on Craig Greenberg, in which no one was hit, although a bullet grazed Greenberg’s clothing. A local Black Lives Matter chapter put up his $100,000 bail.
Brown’s attorney, Rob Eggert, is trying to downplay any suggestion that the shooting was an anti-Semitic attack. “This is not a hate crime,” he was quick to say. “It is a mental health case.”
Greenberg, the target of the attack, said: “Our criminal justice system is clearly broken. It is nearly impossible to believe that someone can attempt murder on Monday and walk out of jail on Wednesday.”
Yet that is what Brown has done, with BLM help.
“If someone is struggling with a mental illness and is in custody, they should be evaluated and treated in custody. We must work together to fix this system,” said Greenberg of the situation largely abetted by his own, crime-excusing, police-defunding, BLM-supporting party.
On Feb. 16 the Louisville Community Bail Fund, supported by Black Lives Matter Louisville, paid the $100,000 bond set for Brown. Brown left Louisville Metro Corrections the same evening, hours after his bail was paid, according to WHAS.
