Cop fired, another suspended over Facebook post calling Black Lives Matter ‘terrorists’

Speak the truth and lose your job … that is the new reality of “president” Joe Biden’s – and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s – United States of America.

A New Jersey police officer has been fired for describing Black Lives Matter protesters as “terrorists” in a Facebook post and another will be suspended and demoted for replying to a comment on the post, NJ.com reports.

Both of the Hopewell Township officers are women with 20 or more years of service.

The terminated officer, Sara Erwin, and Sgt. Mandy Gray, who will be suspended for six months, are model and decorated officers with “absolutely no disciplinary history,” according to their lawyer, Frank Crivelli. He called the town’s actions “disgraceful and cowardice” and said that neither officer has any prior internal affairs complaints.

Gray was in fact the first female officer Hopewell Township hired. She was the first sergeant upon her promotion in 2019, but her demotion means she will lose that rank.

Appeals are already underway for both, Crivelli said. That action will argue First Amendment issues, among other things, he said.

The town took the action on April 30 through its council, which voted unanimously to follow the recommendations of a hearing officer, lawyer Brian P. Trelease.
