Join Christian Action Network’s Pledge to Declare October as America’s Christian Heritage Month – October
Whereas, the United States of America was founded on principles rooted in Judeo-Christian values, integral to the development of our nation’s rights, freedoms, and liberties, and
Whereas, the Supreme Court of the United States affirmed these foundational principles, stating in 1892, “This is a Christian nation” (Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States) and reaffirming in 1931, “We are a Christian people” (United States v. Macintosh); and
Whereas, President Dwight D. Eisenhower emphasized the importance of these values when he declared in 1952, “Without God, there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life”; and
Whereas, these Judeo-Christian values have shaped the moral and ethical framework of our society, contributing to the establishment of justice, the protection of human rights, and the promotion of the common good; and
Whereas, acknowledging and celebrating our Judeo-Christian heritage is essential to preserving these values for future generations;
Therefore, I call upon Congress, state governments, and local county and city governments to declare October as America’s Judeo-Christian Heritage Month.
Be It Further Resolved, in October, our nation should celebrate the contributions of Judeo-Christian values to our nation’s history and renew its commitment to these enduring principles.
