With every mask applied to an American child’s face, the Democratic Party and its allies are a little more … unmasked.
Parents of students at a Colorado Springs middle school are shocked and concerned at allegations that teachers have been forcing their kids to actually tape masks to their faces, using blue painters’ tape.
Academy School District 20 has vowed to investigate the claims, and more than 100 students and staff members are being interviewed.
A parent named Stephanie told FOX21 News that after sending her daughter a picture on Oct. 15 from Timehop, an app that shares pictures from the past, her daughter sent her back a selfie. In the photo, her daughter was wearing a mask with tape added, over the bridge of her nose.
“It’s a type of a restraint to me,” said Stephanie, pointing out that some kids are actually getting attached to the masks because they allow the hiding of insecurities, the hiding of facial expressions, the hiding even of identity.
“She likes them because they hide her face ’cause of acne or whatnot. What really made me sad was that she didn’t see what was wrong,” Stephanie said.
The parent said that her daughter had been given one warning to keep her mask over her nose or it would be taped to her face. The sixth-grader told her mom that teachers have been using the method for weeks.
“She said the teachers were wearing the masking tape around their wrists like bracelets and whenever someone’s mask would fall down, they would tape them,” said Tori Skeldum, another parent. “It’s sad that our world is coming to this and teachers would think it is OK.”
“Your face is you, that is how people know you,” Stephanie said. They are just doubling down on hiding you and not letting you breathe and… it’s conformity to the extreme.”
The school district said it had no conclusions so far, and claimed to be taking “the appropriate steps to address these serious allegations.”
