Hey Liberal Cities! ‘In God We STILL Trust’

Christian Action Network placed truck-mounted mobile billboard ads in major cities (Los Angeles pictured) declaring "In God We STILL Trust" during election week 2020.

Back in October of 2019, I came up with the idea of running 20’x10’, truck-mounted mobile billboard ads in major metropolitan areas declaring: “In God We STILL Trust.”

My reasoning was simple. I felt mainstream America was tired of liberal elitists in politically powerful cities telling the rest of the nation that God no longer has a place in America, even though our trust in God remains engraved on every coin and banknote minted by the U.S. Treasury Department.

At first, my only concern was the cost of the adventure. At nearly $4,000 per truck, I wasn’t sure if I could hit my goal of deploying these ads in four major cities for an entire week.

Still, though I wish I could have added more cities, our gracious and generous supporters helped us reach four very big ones: New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. (More news about placing our trucks in our nation’s capital in just a moment.)

It seems that the further we move away from hard currency in our nation – and towards a cashless economy – the further we also move away from any visible affirmation of that American motto that expresses our real and lasting wealth: “In God We Trust.”

Those four simple words became our nation’s motto in 1956, shortly after President Dwight Eisenhower accurately predicted: “Without God, there could be no American form of Government.” How true.

But … who sees those words anymore?  Fewer and fewer people actually pull cash out of their pockets.  Those words of wisdom do not appear on plastic credit cards, debit cards, EBT cards or in online payment systems like Apple Pay.

“In God We Trust” is now out of sight and largely out of mind, especially in the liberal zoo enclosures of Democrat-controlled cities.

People in those cities are beginning to reap the unfortunate consequences. There is no need to recite all the gruesome details and statistics of America’s rocketing numbers of murders, shootings, suicides, drug overdoses, cases of depression, incidents of domestic violence, etc.

City dwellers are almost universally forgetting to trust in God for America, or even for themselves.

So the Christian Action Network would like to remind the liberal kingmakers, the godless Wall Street money-junkies, the God-hating liberal press and all those hedonistic, self-indulgent, carnal activist groups of one important thing:

The rest of the nation still loudly says, and believes: “In God We Trust.”

As I was relating at the beginning of this essay, I thought the biggest obstacle to running billboard-trucks through big cities would be raising the thousands of dollars needed to actually make the rubber meet the road.

As it turned out, that was the least of my obstacles.

I had originally scheduled these trucks to run during the week of Independence Day, 2020.  What a wonderful time that would have been for these ads to be moving through the streets, with so many Fourth of July revelers and vacationers out and able to see them.

As it turned out, those cities would soon be largely shut down by the coronavirus pandemic.

No problem, I thought. I would reschedule the mobile billboards to roll during election week.

That option too proved problematic, for cities began boarding up shops, erecting barricades and piling on police reinforcements to handle riots that were expected to follow the 2020 election.

The big cities (not just those where we scheduled our trucks to run) were overwhelmed with fear that people would rather trust in their fists, guns, baseball bats, Molotov cocktails and fireworks – than God – to change America.

How ironic, then, that in Washington, D.C. our mobile billboard ad company CANCELED our scheduled trucks because of growing fears that our nation’s capital – the very seat of our “In God We Trust” motto – might become a staging ground for violence, mayhem, destruction and anarchy … authored by the same people who consistently reject God in their lives and in any political discourse.

When looking at the craziness of our current world, in which an elderly person can be sucker-punched while going about his or her own business, I wonder, “Does America still trust in God?”

The answer is: Of course it does. And we should resist with every fiber of our being people who say differently.

We cannot allow a very small minority of people – who happen to have huge megaphones and grandiose platforms (the media and their preferred politicians, the Hollywood elite, the tech-giant bigshots) – to define our nation.

If these people actually represented majority opinion, they would have used that power to strike the words “In God We Trust” from every coin, dollar bill and federal and state building that proclaims these noble words of faith.

The truth is that they don’t represent the majority of the American people. Far from it.

Despite the mainstream media’s false narrative that America is becoming more secular, Christianity is growing in the United States. A 2017 study by sociologists from Harvard University and Indiana University even supports it.  Only moderate, wishy-washy Christianity is on the decline, say the co-authors of the report.

“Therefore, the intensity of American religion is actually becoming more exceptional over time. We conclude that intense religion in the United States is persistent and exceptional in ways that do not fit the secularization thesis.” –  authors Landon Schnabel and Sean Bock

The mainstream news media want to gaslight every American into believing the United States is no longer a Christian nation, and that her motto “In God We Trust” is tired, old, unsophisticated, unfashionable.

At Christian Action Network we want to EMPOWER these words on their street and remind the elites that they’ll never shake our trust in God … for America.

A final note: Our Washington D.C. mobile billboard ads will be running shortly, as soon as the trucking company believes their drivers will be safe traveling through the streets of our nation’s capital.

Isn’t that a sad and revealing statement.
