A high school football in Dedham, Mass. who was fired by the school system for privately disagreeing with a left-wing social justice curriculum being forced on his children is now suing the school district, reports Gateway Pundit.
David Flynn, a popular head football coach at Dedham High School, has a daughter at Dedham Middle and a son at Dedham Public School elementary. He attended the school system as a youngster.
His lawsuit against superintendent Michael Welch, high school Principal Jim Fonest and the high school’s athletic director, Stephen Traister, alleges that Flynn’s daughter’s world history class was missing something important – content related to world history. Instead of ancient civilizations, the claim goes, the class was based “on issues of race, gender, stereotypes, discrimination, and politics, among other left-wing social issues.”
Judicial Watch is assisting the former coach.
One assignment required 12-year-olds to describe “risk factors” and “mitigating factors” when walking on the street with someone of a different skin color. White students were taught to fear blacks with “aggressive body language” or in the “wrong neighborhood.” Black students were taught to fear whites. Fearing the police was emphasized. Flynn and his wife also noted that the seventh-grade teacher’s cartoon “avatar” for the online class was wearing a BLM shirt.
When the couple contacted the principal to address the political propaganda being distributed in class, Principal Fonest responded but did not, according to the lawsuit, “adequately” address their concerns.
Following the email, the superintendent and school chairs met with the Flynns. The superintendent insinuated that politics would not be removed from the curriculum. Angry, Flynn warned other parents through email. A few months later, on Jan. 20, Flynn was brought into a meeting and fired over the email he sent to parents.
The superintendent sent a letter to parents confirming that it was Flynn’s “significant philosophical differences” that rendered him unemployed.
