There have been rumors and whispers of infighting between younger outright leftist socialists and older so-called centrists under the wing of the Democrat Party until now.
Now, there’s an outright declaration of war.
Those calling themselves the Bold Progressives, or Progressive Change Campaign Committee has called out the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for a showdown.
Hard-line leftists are taking over
A report to supporters from “The PCCC Team” notes that what caused the war is the DCCC’s new “blacklist policy” to cut off consultants and other connected campaign kingpins if they help leftist primary challengers against Democrat elected incumbents.
Leftists have been knocking off older Democrat seat holders, replacing them with newer dedicated leftists such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Ro Khanna, who have outspoken socialist agendas.
“We just learned that the DCCC forced four political consultants to quit progressive Marie Newman’s primary campaign against Congressman Dan Lipinski,” the team statement said, referring to Illinois’ pro-life Congressman (D-3) –
He is, “one of the most conservative, anti-choice, anti-Obamacare, pro-Wall Street Dems in the House,” The statement added. “The best way to fight the DCCC’s election-losing blacklist policy is to make it backfire.”
Leftists targeted Lipinski, an avid pro-life Democrat, in 2018, falling short on a Newman primary bid that year by about a point.
“This is the nightmare scenario progressives have been warning about since the DCCC announced their blacklist policy earlier this year,” the statement said. “The new rule tells talented consultants [who help leftist “bold progressive” primary challengers] . . . thanks, but no thanks.”
The war talk tells it like it is
The leftists complain Lipinski is, “co-chair of the Pro-Life Caucus, a tool of Wall Street, and an opponent of Obamacare,” the statement said. “Dan Lipinski was the only House Democrat who chose not to co-sponsor a recent comprehensive LGBTQ civil rights bill.”
The congressional districts along the Chicago outer-loop are horrendously gerrymandered, with districts three to five stretching out into suburban areas near Wheaton, and include conservative communities where many evangelical Christians linked to Wheaton College live.
The leftist statement notes the third district as “bright blue that hasn’t elected a Republican in 45 years,” and where “Hillary Clinton won it by 15 points!”
The area represents a waning bastion of old-guard Democratic Party conservatism, pro-family values and staunch pro-American priorities, where the union label was worn with pride and the colors of Old Glory always flown high.
This showdown represents why that old-guard Democratic Party simply does not exist anymore.
The leftists of the PCCC noted pro-life Lipinski as traitorous, and as a pro-Republican saboteur against the real Democratic Party. That war talk tells it like it is by one measure.
The Democratic Party is being pushed into a dark place that represents nothing that pro-life, pro-American, pro-family citizens stand for.
