Law enforcement officials are searching for a man they say punched a woman in the head outside of a church after he was asked to leave, police said Tuesday.

On Monday, Oct. 28, at approximately noon, the suspect was reportedly creating a disturbance inside of Saint Michael’s Church in Flushing, Queens and was asked to leave.
A 53-year-old female was exiting the church when the suspect approached her and punched her in the back of the head.The man then fled on foot in an unknown direction. EMS transported the victim to Booth Memorial hospital in stable condition.
In recent months an increasing number of such crimes against churches and their occupants are being reported, from false bomb threats to vandalism to other random intrusions that result in violence.
The suspect in the Queens incident is described as a male Asian, 20-30 years of age, and was last seen wearing a yellow and blue jacket and blue pants.
Police released surveillance footage from the incident location, before the incident.
