ABC News – The US baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple on religious grounds is facing a fresh lawsuit — this time for refusing to bake a cake celebrating a “gender transition.”
Lawyers for Jack Phillips of Colorado argued the state was treating him with hostility because of his Christian faith and pressing a complaint that they labelled an obvious set-up.
Transgender lawyer Autumn Scardina called Phillips’s bakery, Masterpiece Cakeshop, in 2017, requesting a cake that was blue on the outside and pink on the inside. Phillips’s shop refused to make the cake after Scardina revealed [he]wanted it to celebrate [his] transition from male to female.
