A document dump has revealed what a Maryland school district got when it shelled out $450,000 in taxpayer money on an “audit” designed to make the district officials feel virtuous, holy and “woke.”
Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland’s largest school district, OK’d the $454,000 “anti-racist system audit” in November 2020, DailyMail.com reports.
On May 19, conservative group Judicial Watch published nearly 700 pages of records generated by the audit and critical race theory classes. The documents provide an inside look at the things students were being taught, which included the topic of “white privilege.”
Pupils at Thomas Pyle Middle School in Bethesda learned that Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan is in fact a call for “covert white supremacy,” as are the “denial of White privilege,”‘ Columbus Day, “colorblindness” and the concept that everyone belongs to “one human family,” documents revealed.
Slides presented to students broke down how just about everything they know so far about their own culture is steeped in racism. Students were instructed that white privilege includes having “a positive relationship with the police”; “soaking in media blatantly biased toward my race”; and “living ignorant of the dire state of racism today,” Judicial Watch documents revealed.
That is, it is racist to not know how racist you are, and to disbelieve anyone who calls you a racist.
The curriculum has drawn a backlash and is being labeled “dangerous.”
“The racist, revolutionary claptrap in these documents should be nowhere near a school classroom,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said.
Nearly a dozen states-including Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, South Dakota, and Arizona- are considering legislation to ban critical race theory in public schools.
