If kindergarteners can be said to have sex lives – highly debatable – the Nebraska Department of Education is moving to get itself deeply involved with them.
According to a draft of the department’s “Health Education Standards,” kindergarteners may soon learn about “cohabitating” and same-sex couples. The standards encourage teachers to discuss “different kinds of family structures” with six-year-olds, such as “single parent, blended, intergenerational, cohabitating, adoptive, foster, same-gender, interracial.”
According to a report by The Daily Wire, first-grade students would be taught the definition of gender, gender identity, and gender-role stereotypes. The topic is taken up again in the second grade.
Third grade takes the students on an even deeper dive into the “range of ways people express their gender and how gender-role stereotypes may influence behavior.”
Eight and nine-year-olds will be called upon to define “sexual orientation.”
When Nebraska’s elementary students reach the fourth grade, talk of transgenderism comes to the fore. By the end of the school year, students must be able to “distinguish between sex assigned at birth and gender iden6tity and explain how they may or may not differ.”
Fifth-graders are introduced to the multi-gender “spectrum.”
By sixth grade, 11-year-olds are taught to distinguish among “cisgender, transgender, gender non-binary, gender expansive, and gender identity.” They are also asked to “define sexual identity and explain a range of identities related to sexual orientation.” Examples included being heterosexual, bisexual, lesbian, gay, queer, two-spirit, asexual, and pansexual.
All just before puberty really kicks in.
Once in high school students learn about how “cultural biases can affect medical diagnosis, treatment, and procedures.” In 10th grade, they go full leftist as they “evaluate and explain how some law and policies are viewed as tools of systemic racism.”
The Nebraska Department of Education says the framework is not a prescribed curriculum or lesson plan. Yet.
Nebraska’s Gov. Pete Ricketts has released a statement calling on the Department of Education to withdraw the sex education plan.
