Marvel Cleans House: Has Hollywood Finally Had Enough of Woke Agenda?
Welcome, Patriots, to another episode of Shout Out Patriots! I’m your host, Martin Mawyer, president of the Christian Action Network. Thank you for tuning in and standing tall for American patriotism, for common sense, and for the values that made this country great.
Today, we’ve got some rare good news coming out of Hollywood.
It looks like we might just be witnessing the end of an era—or, should I say, the bottoming out—of theatrical plot lines more interested in shoving annoying, preachy, and grandstanding woke characters in our faces than in providing good old-fashioned entertainment.
Remember when movies were an escape from the chaos of real life, a way to immerse ourselves in humor, drama, and the thrill of watching characters overcome adversity?
Well, Hollywood might be finally learning that lesson again.
Here’s the situation: Marvel Studios, the powerhouse behind some of the most iconic superhero films in recent history, has reportedly purged its staff of woke activists.
That’s right—they’ve cleaned house.
According to insider sources, they’ve recognized that this relentless push to inject progressive politics into their storylines isn’t just turning off fans—it’s turning off the money spigot.
When the head honchos at Marvel finally admit that ‘going woke didn’t work,’ you know there’s been a seismic shift.
But here’s a phrase you might not have heard before: “male and pale.” It’s a dismissive way of saying that white and male characters are outdated, dull, and unappealing—basically, they’re “stale.”
This kind of language has been echoed across Hollywood studios for years, pushing out classic, beloved characters in favor of preachy, politically correct alternatives.
But guess what? The box office numbers don’t lie. “Male and pale” might be what the woke mob sneers at, but here’s the reality: “male and pale” is money.
That’s the new phrase we should be embracing because it speaks to the truth that audiences are hungry for entertainment that resonates with them, not lectures that alienate them.
Americans want to be entertained.
They want to escape real life, to watch stories of humor, drama, tragedy, and—most importantly—victory. They want to see characters who reflect their struggles and triumphs, who stand up to challenges and overcome them.
That’s what made superheroes like Iron Man and Captain America so iconic in the first place—they weren’t just figures of fantasy; they were symbols of hope, resilience, and the American spirit.
And let’s talk about the role of movies in our lives.
For many of us, going to the movies is a date night, a chance to connect with someone special.
But if Hollywood insists on portraying female characters as hyper-masculine, invulnerable warriors while reducing male characters to wimpy, effeminate sidekicks who need rescuing, they’re going to lose a crucial part of their audience.
Let’s be honest here—most men don’t want to take their date to a movie that emasculates them. Even if there’s some truth to the idea that women can be strong and men can be vulnerable, no man wants to sit in a theater and watch a version of himself that’s been neutered by Hollywood’s social agenda.
Marvel seems to be waking up to this reality, at least partially.
They’re not doubling down on woke nonsense like their counterparts over at Lucasfilm, who are apparently content to let progressive activists run the show into the ground.
But Marvel has seen the writing on the wall, says Film Threat founder and acclaimed writer Chris Gore during an appearance on The Critical Drinker’s podcast.
He says they’ve fired all the activist producers and are signaling a return to what made their franchise great in the first place—entertainment that thrills, captivates, and, most importantly, respects the intelligence and values of their audience.
Now, we’re not out of the woods yet. We’ve got a year of ‘woke’ Marvel content still to slog through—shows like Agatha All Along and Ironheart, along with upcoming films like Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts.
But beyond that, there’s hope. Hope that Hollywood is finally beginning to understand that Americans are tired of being preached to. They want stories that inspire, not lectures that condescend.
Perhaps the biggest signal of this shift is the recent news that Robert Downey Jr., the man who brought Tony Stark to life and launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is returning—this time as the iconic villain Doctor Doom.
It’s a bold move that’s left fans stunned. But it shows that Marvel is willing to take risks to win back their audience, to give them the complex, compelling characters they crave rather than the bland, preachy alternatives that have been pushed in recent years.
So let’s keep our fingers crossed, Patriots.
Hollywood might be slowly waking up, but we must keep the pressure on. Let’s keep demanding entertainment that respects our values, honors our intelligence, and gives us the escape we deserve.
New Survey Reveals Plummeting Support for Free Speech
Oh boy. I want to say I’m shocked by the revelations in this next segment, but that would be disingenuous. We all saw this coming.
A recent survey was released that should (and I emphasize, should) chill every freedom-loving American: the collapse in support for free speech among college students. But as I mentioned, that’s hardly a surprise to anyone.
Let’s get straight to the numbers.
According to the latest report from the Knight Foundation and Ipsos, fewer than half of college students—just 43%—believe that freedom of speech is secure today. Compare that to 2016, when 73% of students felt their speech rights were safe.
This isn’t just a drop; it’s a freefall primarily driven by a sharp decline among Democratic students. In 2021, 61% of Democratic students believed free speech should remain secure. Today, that number has plummeted to just 51%.
And it doesn’t stop there. Over 70% of students now believe that speech can be as damaging as physical violence. Think about that for a second. We’ve gone from a society that understood the power of words to one that fears them.
Nearly half of students report feeling uncomfortable on campus due to speech about race, gender, or religion, up from just 25% in 2017.
And yet, while students are quick to censor others, they also censor themselves. Two out of three students say they hold back from sharing their true opinions in class, fearing backlash from their peers or professors.
These numbers should terrify anyone who values the First Amendment because they represent a seismic shift in how the next generation views their rights. The very idea of free speech is under siege, not from external enemies, but from within our own borders, within our own schools.
This isn’t just about political correctness—it’s about the survival of a free society.
Our Founders knew that the freedom to speak your mind and challenge the status quo was essential to the health of our Republic. But today’s students are taught to believe that offensive ideas must be silenced, that safe spaces are more important than open debate, and that the right not to be offended trumps the right to speak freely.
If we don’t push back, if we don’t stand up for our most fundamental right, we risk losing it altogether. Because once free speech is gone, everything else goes with it—freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, even the freedom to think for yourself.
Let me be clear—curtailing free speech is not progress; it’s regression. It’s a slippery slope back to the dark days of the Spanish Inquisition, where those who dared to speak out faced fines, torture, imprisonment, and even exile. We are witnessing a dangerous movement that seeks to rewind the clock on centuries of progress in human rights and freedoms.
During my time in Europe filming the documentary Europe’s Last Stand: America’s Final Warning, I spoke with many Europeans who envied the free speech rights we enjoy in America.
They lamented that speaking your mind can lead to punishment in their own countries, unlike here, where our First Amendment guarantees that right. But now, it seems, we’re willing to throw that precious freedom away because some find certain speech uncomfortable or offensive.
Let’s call this what it is—modern-day slavery.
Curtailing free speech shackles not just the tongue but the mind. It forces individuals to censor themselves, to think twice before speaking, and to hold back their true thoughts and beliefs out of fear of retribution.
That’s not freedom; that’s oppression.
When we allow this, we are not just giving up a constitutional right; we are giving up the very essence of what it means to be free.
If we continue down this path, we risk losing not just our voices but our very identity as free people. We must stand up, speak out, and defend our right to free speech because if we don’t, the next generation might not even know what they’ve lost.
Massachusetts’ March Toward State-Controlled Families
Now, let’s turn our attention to Massachusetts, a state all too eager to prove it’s the wokest of the woke.
This may leave you scratching your head, chuckling, or spitting fire, but the State of Massachusetts is about to remove the terms “mother” and “father” from its state parentage law.
Say hello to the era where a dad is simply a “parent” and a mother is demoted to “the person who gave birth.” How wonderfully inclusive!
Now, I’m sure you’re wondering: How did we ever survive as a society with such exclusive terms like “mom” and “dad”? Clearly, we must have been living in the dark ages, burdened by the oppressive notion that someone who gives birth might actually be called a “mother.”
But fear not, I say with tongue-in-cheek, Massachusetts is here to save us from this linguistic tyranny!
I can already hear your groans and see your rolling eyes, and for good reason. But let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of this groundbreaking legislation.
The Massachusetts Parentage Act, as it is called, just passed the state senate and is currently awaiting the signature of Democratic Governor Maura Healey.
Anyone supporting this legislation that strips moms and dads of their mothers and fathers’ titles should give a round of applause to the bill’s co-sponsor, Democratic state senator Julian Cyr, who proudly announced that this bill is a “critical step towards parentage equality.”
Parentage equality? Give me a break! How many Massachusettsans have heard of “parentage equality,” much less know what it means?
But whatever it means, nothing says equality like erasing the words that define our most fundamental relationships.
But it doesn’t stop there! The bill also proposes replacing “man” and “woman” with “persons.”
Yes, the relentless march of progress continues as Massachusetts leads the charge to wipe out any trace of gender-specific language. Who knew that the simple act of identifying someone as a man or a woman was so offensive?
And, of course, we can’t forget Governor Maura Healey, who is all set to sign this masterpiece into law. She’s excited to make Massachusetts a trailblazer in LGBTQ+ equality by ensuring that no one, anywhere, has to be burdened by the horror of gendered language.
So, here we are, one step closer to a world where language is so inclusive that it excludes common sense.
But hey, who needs mothers and fathers when you can have generic, state-approved “parents”?
Before long, and mark my words, the word “parents” will eventually be replaced with the word “custodians,” as all of this is just linguistic nonsense and nothing more than a march toward the state stripping mothers and fathers their right to raise children according to their own faith, beliefs, values, and conscience.
At Shout Out Patriots, we will always call out this madness, one ridiculous bill at a time.
Live Free or Leave? New Hampshire’s Bold Push for Independence
Next is a topic that’s as American as apple pie and baseball—secession.
Yes, you didn’t hear me wrong. The people of New Hampshire are fed up with what they see as a bloated, overreaching central government and are flirting with the idea of breaking away from the good old U.S. of A.
Now, I’m not here to tell you whether secession is a good or bad idea. But let’s face it, the fact that we’re even discussing this clearly shows how disconnected many Americans feel from their government.
When regular, everyday folks seriously consider leaving the country—not by moving, but by taking their whole state with them—you know something’s gone wrong.
The New Hampshire Exit movement is a perfect example of this frustration. Their state motto is “Live Free or Die.” Well, perhaps most aren’t really willing to die anymore, but they certainly feel comfortable with this alternate motto: “Live Free or Leave.”
They’re sick and tired of paying more in federal taxes than they get back. They see Washington D.C. as a city of 2.5 million unelected bureaucrats dragging the nation toward bankruptcy, all while trampling on the rights of states like New Hampshire.
And honestly, can you blame them?
But let’s be honest for a moment. Even if these movements managed to pull off a vote for secession, the likelihood of it actually happening is slim to none. The legal and political hurdles are enormous.
But here’s the kicker—whether they succeed or not, these movements should be a wake-up call to our government.
Imagine a country where enough people are so fed up that they’re willing to organize, campaign, and vote for secession. That’s a country with a severe problem.
And it’s not just New Hampshire. We’re seeing similar rumblings in Texas, Vermont, and even liberal Oregon, where some folks want to leave and join conservative Idaho.
The message is clear: Americans feel they’ve lost their voice, and they’re willing to go to extreme lengths to regain it.
But here’s the thing—if these movements start to gain traction, it’s not just the states that will suffer. The federal government stands to lose big time, too. Imagine trying to govern a nation where parts of the population are so angry they’d rather divorce than stay in an abusive relationship.
That’s a recipe for disaster.
So, what’s the solution? It’s time for our government to start listening to its citizens, really listening. People are tired of feeling like their concerns are being ignored like they’re just cogs in a giant, unfeeling machine.
Whether it’s about taxes, representation, or simply being heard, these secession movements are a symptom of a much larger problem.
If our leaders don’t start addressing these frustrations, the calls for secession—no matter how unlikely—will only get louder. And if that happens, it won’t just be the states that suffer. The whole country will feel the pain.
This is Shout Out Patriots—where we never stop shouting the truth because if we don’t, who will?
