Authorities have charged a NJ man who allegedly photographed and shot videos of American landmarks, including Boston’s Fenway Park, the White House, and Statue of Liberty in the early to mid-2000s as potential terrorism targets.
It is alleged that he was working on behalf of Hezbollah’s Islamic Jihad Organization which is an organization that does not help humanity but attacks it according to people who know their history.
The 42-year old Alexei Saab from Morristown was arrested by authorities on July 9th after being questioned 11 different times by the FBI. As per a nine-count indictment, which returned Thursday, he has also been charged with marriage fraud.
Saab entered the States in 2000 and became a legal citizen in 2008. He was charged with marriage fraud for supposedly marrying a co-conspirator under false pretenses in 2012. After which, he used his Hezbollah training to scout possible targets throughout the country.
Head of New York’s FBI office, William F. Sweeney Jr., said the charges levied against Saab attempted to highlight “the persistent efforts of a sophisticated international terrorist organization to scout targets at home and abroad, identifying vulnerabilities, and gathering essential details useful for a future attack.”
The most serious charges lodged against Saab carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison. Collectively, the charges carry potential penalties of more than 100 years in prison.
There are many people who believe someone like this should be given the death penalty on the basis of America’s debt for example. They believe that spending $60,000 a year to keep someone like this alive is illogical.
