Phony and divisive teachings that racism makes all white people into criminals who must atone for their sins is under increasing attack – an attack that was started by President Donald Trump during his administration.

A group of House Republicans on May 12 introduced a pair of bills to ban diversity training – AKA “critical race theory” – for federal employees and the military, NBC News is reporting.

The 30 GOP lawmakers signed on to back both the Combatting Racist Training in the Military Act and the Stop CRT Act, Rep. Dan Bishop of North Carolina announced at a press conference held in Washington.

The first measure accompanies legislation introduced by Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton that aims to stop the teaching of “Anti-American and racist theories” such as critical race theory at any educational institution associated with the U.S. Armed Forces. The Stop CRT Act codifies former President Trump’s executive order banning diversity training for federal employees — an order reversed by Joe Biden immediately after he was installed in the White House in January.

“Critical race theory is a divisive ideology that threatens to poison the American psyche,” Bishop said at the press conference. “For the sake of our children’s future, we must stop this effort to cancel the truth of our founding and our country.”

Bishop said the initial bill “stands for the idea that CRT does not belong in our armed forces. The Stop CRT Act will be the most comprehensive legislation to restrict the spread of CRT.”

The bills are only the latest in a series of proposals targeting “diversity” training — which depends heavily on critical race theory — in several U.S. states.

Legislation in Idaho, Louisiana, Rhode Island and Tennessee is already restricting teaching in schools that the United States must be overhauled and fundamentally changed to atone for racism in the past.
