A recent poll by the Trafalgar Group shows a surprising contest: Overwhelming majorities of both Republicans and Democrats view American society and culture as being in a “state of decay.” It’s simply a matter of how big the majority is.
Among Republicans, 76.8 percent of those surveyed said the country is in a state of decay, with only 9.8 percent seeing progress and 13.4 percent saying they were unsure.
Among Democrats, 61 percent saw a state of decay versus 15.4 percent who saw progress and a 23.6 percent segment saying they were unsure.
The results come as the country struggles with massive official incompetence on a variety of fronts: COVID response, supply chain breakdown, spiraling crime, withdrawal from Afghanistan, the U.S.-Mexico border and the sudden collapse of any confidence in U.S. public schools.
The poll surveyed 1,076 likely general election voters between Dec. 17 and Dec. 21 and claimed a margin of error of 3 percent.
According to The Daily Caller, the Trafalgar Group was one of very few polling companies that predicted Donald Trump’s win in the 2016 presidential election. Trafalgar was also among the few predicting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ win in 2018, along with Republican victories in New Jersey and Virginia in November of 2021.
