Charges of indecent exposure were discreetly filed on Aug. 30 against a registered sex offender in the much-reported, inflammatory Wi Spa incident in Los Angeles, following an investigation by police there.

In that incident, four women and a minor girl came forward to allege that an aroused Darren Agee Merager exposed himself in the women’s section of Wi Spa.

Along with being a suspect in this case, Merager faces several felony charges of indecent exposure over a separate incident, also in Los Angeles.

Merager, who spoke exclusively to The New York Post, denies the accusations and says that he is in fact the victim in the case, of what he called “transphobic harassment.”

On June 23, a group of women told staff at the Wi Spa in Los Angeles’ Koreatown that a man was exposing his genitalia in the women’s section. Video of the interaction with staffers was posted the next day on social media by a woman going by the name “Cubana Angel.”

“It’s okay for a man to go into the women’s section, show his penis around the other women, young little girls — underage — in your spa?” the woman queried the staff. “He’s a man! He is a man!”

The three-and-a-half-minute video was reposted numerous times and soon went viral.

“Cubana Angel” appeared alongside attorney Marc Little at a press conference on July 7 in Pasadena, and described seeing the man in the spa. “As I was walking, I noticed something that was really disturbing, something that caused me to feel that I was transported into the men’s locker room,” she said.

Some of the female patrons, including minors, became uncomfortable and began putting their robes back on, she related. She went to notify the staff, and to record the video, but spa workers said they could not intervene because of California law.

“We as women have rights to be safe in public spaces and they are being violated by men,” she said.

The video sparked sometimes violent face-offs between right- and left-wing protesters, including Antifa, at the Wi Spa. On July 3, after police tried to separate the two groups, some 40 people were arrested.

Merager says he is legally a female in the state of California. He calls the charges against him “harassment.”

Law-enforcement sources confirmed that Darren Agee Merager is a tier-one registered sex offender.
