Look what happens when a military force doesn’t have enough to do, and instead becomes a vast government job- and re-education program.

Leftists in the U.S. government have been using the U.S. military as a vast and very well-funded re-education camp, spending nearly 6 million man-hours on implementing a “leftist social agenda” among troops, Republicans said on Feb. 14.

Directed by Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, to supply data on the quantity of time and money the The U.S. Department of Defense spent training personnel about climate change, extremism and “diversity,” Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley responded in a letter on Jan. 6 with shocking numbers.

More than 5.3 million hours and $535,000 was spent on extremism “stand downs,” or discussions about extremism in the ranks that were ordered by leftist Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin in February.

“This averages to just over 2 hours per Service member in a total force of 2.46 million members and is comparable to other Joint Force periodic training requirements,” Milley wrote in the letter.

The communication also revealed that roughly 530,000 hours and $477,000 was spent on new diversity training and more than 1,000 hours and $5,000 was spent on introducing the DOD’s “Climate Adaptation Plan.”

Inhofe and 11 other Republicans on the Armed Services Committee issued a letter on Feb.14 accusing the DOD of twisting the thinking of military personnel while nations like Russia, China and Iran grow as threats.

“We face real threats across the world, yet the Biden administration is more focused on promoting its leftist social agenda in the military instead of countering China, Russia and Iran or creating an effective counterterrorism plan,” the senators said in the letter, obtained by FOX News. “Our military is not an extremist organization, and our service members, by and large all good people, are dedicated, faithful patriots.”

The lawmakers also pointed out a December report by the DOD that revealed “fewer than 100” military members were found to have taken part in “extremist” activity over the past year. That means: for each identified instance of extremism in the military, service members spent roughly 54,000 hours in training about extremism.
