Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are ironically doubling down on hatred and racism, and are increasingly painting themselves into a corner on Critical Race Theory. On July 28 they blocked a bill to ban federal funding for programs that teach the increasingly talked-about doctrine, reports the Daily Herald of Provo, Utah.
Critical Race Theory is a kind of codification of leftist hatred for the United States. It condemns both the country and its white residents as being institutionally racist and in need of destruction and rebuilding.
And of course, anyone who opposes it is a racist.
The bill House Democrats blocked was sponsored by Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, and would ban federal funding for the purpose of teaching critical race theory and other “discriminatory concepts.” Owens introduced “Say No to Indoctrination Act” as a prerequisite to a vote on a 2022 spending bill.
Owens is black, but got no consideration from Democrats who apparently know better than he does what good blacks should be doing, saying and believing.
In fact, one Democratic lawmaker –a white man who clearly knows more about being black than Rep. Owens does – made it clear that no negotiation or even discussion with Democrats is possible on their favorite topic, racism.
Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., shut down the debate with the proclamation that “We’re not going to debate on whether racism exists in America, because it does. And we’re not going to debate whether we should teach our kids racism is wrong; we should. We’re not going to debate whether individuals, states and schools can decide what their kids learn, they can. And we sure as hell are not going to be lectured about racism by the party that is trying to dismantle the Voting Rights Act that Martin Luther King and John Lewis paid for with their blood.”
The motion to approve the spending bill passed on a 217-201 vote and the House did not consider Owens’ bill.
