University professor finds Bible in classroom, reports it to school’s hate-crime team

A newly revealed incident that occurred one year ago at George Mason University reveals how, in the leftist world, open religious discrimination and persecution are encouraged as long as they target Christians.

In November 2019 a professor at the university discovered a Bible and an accompanying CD in her classroom. The professor took the items to the school’s “Bias Incident Reporting Team,” which classified the incident as “discrimination” and “harassment” against “religion,” according to a report on The College Fix.

The professor took photographs of the offending Bible, as if it were a vandalism damage or a crime scene, and the items were confiscated by the Bias Team.

The report was one of a dozen filed on the school’s bias reporting website between January 1, 2019 and January 1, 2020 and acquired by The College Fix through an open records request. Documents provided by the university were redacted to protect the privacy of those involved.

The Fix is investigating the types of complaints that are made to bias response teams at college campuses nationally. Since being launched the investigation has gathered cases from two dozen universities.

George Mason’s Campus Climate website states that students and faculty should report and “act of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, violence or criminal offense committed against any person, group or property that appears to be motivated by prejudice or bias.”

Like leaving a Bible in a public place.

According to the school, “bias” could mean “negative feelings and beliefs with respect to others race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age social class, political affiliation, disability, veteran status, club affiliation or organizational membership.”

“Such bias incidents may be intentional or unintentional and affect the individual or Mason community,” the website lectures.
