Will journalists protest as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez goes full tyrant, making moves to “rein in” the media, mainstream and otherwise, in the wake of the U.S. Capitol protest on Jan. 6?

The attractive yet simple-minded liberal lawmaker revealed that Congress is looking into creating an investigative panel to make sure free speech has, well, government permission, according to a story in the New York Post.

During an Instagram Live on Jan. 12 in which she described fearing for her life while people protesting election fraud stormed the Capitol building, the “Squad” member accused the mainstream media of “spewing disinformation” ahead of the incident, although the only person outright killed was an unarmed female protester wearing a flag. Four others died of various medical conditions.

“There’s absolutely a commission that’s being discussed but it seems to be more investigating in style rather than truth and reconciliation,” she said, cryptically.

“I do think that several members of Congress in some of my discussions have brought up media literacy because that is part of what happened here,” the New York Democrat went on.

“We’re going to have to figure out how we rein in our media environment so you can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation,” she said.

So free speech will need some kind of official permission.

“It’s one thing to have differentiating opinions, but it’s another thing entirely to just say things that are false, so that’s something that we’re looking into.”
