Christian Action Network forms The RAHAB Mission

Christian Afghans thank Christian Action Network for helping them with food, shelter clothing, and passage out of Afghanistan.

Feed, Clothe, Shelter, and Emergency Evacuation for Afghan Christians

First, I want to welcome Ryan Mauro as director for Christian Action Network’s new project, The RAHAB Mission.

Please let me share with you the blessed story behind the creation of this new project.

When Ryan Mauro called me nearly a year ago to help rescue Afghan Christians following Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal of US troops, I hesitated.

Ryan’s goal sounded too ambitious. He wanted to feed, shelter, provide clothing, medical aid, and safe evacuation to thousands of Afghan Christians who were only a breath away from being tortured and killed by the Taliban, ISIS soldiers, and even family members.

Yes, I hesitated. But I also prayed. And then I had what I call a “Rahab moment.”

In the Old Testament, Rahab was a prostitute living in Jericho who answered the call of God to hide and save two men who Joshua sent out to scout that city’s military strength.

Not only did she boldly defy the king, who sent soldiers to her house to seek out the men, but by faith she fed them, hid them, and helped them escape.

Isn’t this precisely what Ryan wanted to do for Afghan Christians?

The value God put on Rahab’s faith was unmistakable, with her courage being praised by apostles Paul and James. Matthew even lists her in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. (Matt. 1:5)

I, too, wanted to answer that call of faith and help Christians trying to hide, flee and survive the terrors of an enemy that seeks their life solely because they are Christian.

My decision wasn’t easy, as our small organization survives on mostly $5, $15, and $25 gifts.

But out of faith, I told Ryan our organization would gift him $4,000 for his relief project.

Then within just a few short months, I saw what Ryan could do as a steward of God, committing himself to help over 75 Christian Afghans. Putting them in safe houses. Feeding them. Clothing them. Giving them medical aid. Getting some out of the country.

Ryan Mauro, Project Director The RAHAB Mission

Ryan did this mostly with his own money until he had no more money to spend.

Many know Ryan through his multiple appearances on FOX News and as the former National Security Analyst for the Clarion Project.

All along, Christian Action Network helped where we could.

When Ryan was almost ready to close the doors on his Afghan rescue project due to lack of funds, I suggested he bring his relief efforts under the umbrella of the Christian Action Network.

He agreed, and The RAHAB Mission was born.

As you can see from the photos at the top, many have already been rescued!

These Afghan Christians should never be viewed as needy people, “down on their luck and looking for a bailout.”

Far from it!

These men and women are living examples of those who “walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Cor. 5:7).

They are literally obeying the words of Christ:

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” (Matt. 16:24)

And for us? And for us? May this scripture bear fruit in our hearts:

“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?” (Prov. 24:11-12)
