Democrats have seized power, and on Feb. 14 Joe Biden, their anointed president, predictably called on Congress to once again start dismantling constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights, reports The Daily Wire.

Biden demanded bans on some guns and new laws that will let people sue gun manufacturers.

“I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets,” Biden wrote to Congress, reciting the now-familiar laundry list of leftists when they are in power.

Biden’s call to ban “assault weapons” likely amounts to calling for a ban on semiautomatic firearms, and there was no statement about allowing people who currently own those weapons to keep them. If gun owners are not allowed to keep those firearms under a Biden ban, it would effectively imply a mandatory gun confiscation program.

Something similar happened several years ago when the Trump administration banned bump stocks following the October 1, 2017, Las Vegas shooting. Bump stocks essentially harness the recoil of a rifle to make it into an automatic weapon, and anyone selling or owning one could face up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000.

Biden’s call on Congress to enact legislation that would strip gun manufacturers of immunity from lawsuits who “knowingly put weapons of war on our streets” is essentially a backdoor way of trying to bankrupt the gun industry or force them to drastically change the types of weapons they are willing to sell.
