Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow being targeted by leftist big media for his strong support of Donald Trump, is suing The Daily Mail for defamation and libel after an anonymously sourced story claimed he had a “secret relationship” with 30 Rock actress Jane Krakowski.
The British tabloid reported the supposed relationship as having started a year ago, although the story was based on a tip from “an anonymous friend,” Yahoo reports.
Both Krakowski and Lindell denied the story, and Lindell is taking things a step further after threatening last week to sue. According to court documents seen by Insider, he is suing for defamation and libel.
The Mail reported that Lindell sent Krakowski flowers and champagne, and that their fling came to an end this summer after multiple trips to see each other. Lindell’s suit said this particular claim caused him “personal harm and emotional distress” because he is recovering from alcoholism and runs a substance abuse recovery service, the Lindell Recovery Network. Lindell says that the story has hurt his reputation and ability to provide services.
“As a recovering addict and alcoholic, who frequently writes and speaks about his spiritual triumphs over substance abuse, Mr. Lindell is horrified by the defendants’ fabricated and very public accusations,” the lawsuit says.
Lindell also reasserts that he has never heard of Krakowski, who also says the story was untrue. Last week her publicist issued a statement reading: “Jane has never met Mr. Lindell. She is not and has never been in any relationship with him, romantic or otherwise.”
“She is, however, in full-fledged fantasy relationships with Brad Pitt, Rege-Jean Page, and Kermit the Frog, and welcomes any and all coverage on those.”
