Geert Wilders is the world-renown chairman of Netherland’s Party for Freedom. He rose to international fame in 2008 with the release of his film Fitna, a short documentary that explored the motivations for Islamic terrorism and world domination.

Though constantly surrounded by death threats, Wilders has toured numerous countries with his prophetic warning about the dangers of radical Islam and its growing tyrannization against governments and those who are not Muslim, those described in the Quran as infidels.

A year after the release of Fitna, Wilders came to the United States and spoke at the Free Speech Summit at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, FL. in 2009.

In his speech to an overflowing audience at the prestigious Mar-a-Lago, Wilders’ said, “Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately these are dramatic times. Europe might very well be on its way to destruction.

“The Europe you know from the stories of your parents or friends or families is on the verge of collapsing.”

Wilders cautioned a riveted audience that there was “no such thing as moderate Islam,” telling attendees that “Muhammad was a warlord” who “preached violence, he preached the slaughter of non-Muslims.”

He warned that churches are emptying out all over Europe and being refashioned into mosques. “They are shooting up like mushrooms,” he said.

He disturbingly told how female genital mutilation was becoming common place in Islamic communities across Europe, and lambasted the rise of crimes being committed inside entrenched Muslims no-go zones.

“We let in the Trojan Horse,” he lamented.

But this is not just a European problem, he warned, but a problem “in your country, in the United States.”

“If we do not stop Islamization, we will lose everything. We will lose our identity. We will lose our culture, our democratic constitutional state, our freedom and, indeed, our civilization and Europe.”

As a vocal critic of Islam, Wilders has been subjected to assassination attempts going back as far as 2004, when in November of that year two Islamists captured and seized a building in The Hague.

The Muslims were in possession of three grenades with the plan to murder Wilders and another vocal opponent of radical Islam, Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Wilders has not only been subjected to dangerous face-offs with hardline, Islamic fundamentalists, but has also had parlous confrontations with government authorities opposed to his harsh criticism of Islam.

In December 2009, Wilders was ordered to appear before a Dutch court to defend himself against charges that he had insulted Muslims with his oratory, more commonly known as making “hate speech.” If convicted, Wilder’s would have faced up to 16 months in jail.

He was eventually cleared of those charges.
