Neither does the CEO of a small spice company, an apoplectic hater of Donald Trump who is putting political bluster over his own business.
Bill Penzey Jr., 58, founder and CEO of Penzey’s Spices, actually sent out a letter in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day that renamed the holiday as … Republicans are Racist Weekend.
He sent it out to customers on Jan. 14, reports DailyMail.com.
The letter penned by Penzey Jr., a white man who has no shareholders to answer to, promises to “Cheese Off Racists for Free!” as part of a promotion that includes ten Black Lives Matter stickers.
However, he is finding that some customers are not as filled with passionate and spicy hate as he is.
“I’m a Democrat and liberal and all that and I know not all Republicans are racist,” one poster on Penzeys’ website wrote in reply. “I think this is going a bit too far with the generalizations.” Another said: “I am a Democrat. But, I find this bad business.”
Gosh, maybe.
Republican Wisconsin State Senator Julian Bradley told FOX 6 News that Penzey’s antics aren’t anything new, and that the small company is doing it because it attracts free media coverage. The CEO previously called Republicans the “number one threat to this country,” and has spent tens of thousands of dollars on ads calling for former President Donald Trump’s impeachment.
